Bosley – Hair Restoration & Transplant – San Francisco

I had an excellent experience with Bosley from start to finish. The entire team was professional, knowledgeable, and supportive throughout the process. They took the time to answer all of my questions, explain every step of the procedure, and make sure I felt comfortable and confident in my decision.

The procedure itself went smoothly, and the staff provided outstanding care before, during, and after treatment. Their attention to detail and commitment to patient satisfaction were evident every step of the way. The follow-up care and guidance have also been exceptional.

I had decided to try Bosley hair implants based on the recommendation of my dermatologist. I went to an informational appointment with a Bosley staff member at their San Francisco clinic, after which we set a date for the implants, and I paid a deposit to hold my appointment (set aside a full day for implanting my bangs and part of my scalp just behind the bangs.)
I arrived at the clinic very early on the appointed day, paid the balance of my bill, signed some legal papers, and was immediately taken in for preparatory treatment. Several preparatory treatments were administered by specialized nursing personnel, including photographs and a blood drawing, leaving the intravenous port open for later use. I was also administered a topical anesthetic to the “donor area” of my scalp (on the back of my head) and an oral relaxation drug (optional, but I elected to take this drug.)
The implants were then obtained from the back of my scalp and rapidly prepared for implantation by five or six skilled staff members who carefully (under a microscope) separated the follicles and prepared them for implantation.
As the relaxation drug wore off, I was then provided with a sandwich lunch, which I appreciated.
After lunch, I was put into an even more relaxed state via the open port; this was an intravenous infusion through which I believe I was essentially asleep in the comfortable, flexible chair, under surgical lights for the implantation stage.
When I awakened, I was greeted by staff trained to help patients transition to full awareness. I was offered a beverage and allowed time to feel confident that I was ready to walk to the bathroom, gather my belongings, listen to advice for at-home care, and given a cute, blue baseball-style cap. I was allowed as much time as I needed, and then departed for home.
In my particular case, I walked several blocks, caught the “F” streetcar on the Embarcadero, walked from the Port Terminal Streetcar stop a short block to the Embarcadero BART Station, caught the Richmond train to the Downtown Berkeley Station, and walked several blocks home.

I took a nap once home, after which I followed the post-implant home care routines. Included in those routines were some pain killers to take during the period when the topical anesthetic administered to my scalp was wearing off. I took several of these pills, and the transition was relatively comfortable.
Bosley anticipated typical patient needs at each step and made this experience comfortable and supportive.
I am now awaiting the growth of new hair in my baldest spots, and plan to go to the follow up appointments in about 11 months!

Honestly from start to finish, everyone was amazing. Dr and all the nurses were very professional and made for a very pleasant experience. Very comfortable place and beautiful location.

These clowns were supposed to call me at noon today for "initial consultation". They went MIA. NO call. No text. No email. They wasted my half hour at the time of the appointment. Not a serious place.

It was my second hair transplant and once again, they were very attentive and kind throughout the treatment and I left feeling very happy with how the new implant looks
