Hair Medical Restoration

After several years of contemplating to get a hair transplant, I decided to do so this year. I did a lot of research on getting it done in Turkey, and then I found some reddit posts regarding clinics in Tijuana (so much closer). I then did my research on several clinics in TJ and got my top three. I submitted my pictures to all three and got their feedback. From a friendly and responsive perspective, HMR was top notch. They patiently answered a ton of questions (and believe me, there were a lot). Their package was very good. My estimate graph count was 2500 for crown and touch up on hairline. They require a $500 deposit to book. They require lab work to make sure you are healthy enough for the procedure which you can do locally or have the option to do there for $120 USD (I believe). They also require a letter from your family doctor identifying you're in good health (if you are a bit older as in my case). They will book a two night stay at a good hotel across the street and can arrange a driver to pick you up from Mexico side of the border coming from San Diego). They can also pick you up at the airport if you can show proof of itinerary. The first day, they will review with you your expectations and they will do some kind of deep cleansing of the areas you will be implanting. The next day at 6 am, you will come in for some minor health tests. You will be asked to have a light breakfast as you will be taking some oral medication that will help with the anesthesia. The first half is extraction followed by chicken salad lunch break, and then then the transplant itself. I thought coming in it would be a long day (roughly 6-8 hours) but it went by so quickly (as I was in twilight sedation). Yay! I had very little bleeding and super little pain. I am now 7 days post op and I'm so glad I finally did it! Dr. Cortez was my surgeon and his work is pretty amazing (as on his many great reviews). Everyone I interacted with at HMR was amazing especially their admin staff (even today, I send them a bunch of questions on after care, and they respond - love them!) So excited to see full results in 12 months! - Happy patient!

I had an excellent experience with the team at HMR Tijuana. From the very beginning, the staff was professional, friendly, and incredibly organized. The clinic itself was modern, clean, and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process.
Dr. Cortez and the medical team took the time to answer all of my questions and explain every step in detail, which gave me a lot of confidence moving forward. The procedure went smoothly, and the aftercare support has been outstanding. I really appreciated how attentive and responsive the team was before, during, and after my treatment.
One thing that stood out to me was how seamless the entire experience was for international patients. Transportation, accommodations, and scheduling were all handled professionally, making the trip stress-free.

I had my hair transplant on 22/06/26 and the process couldn’t have gone better; now I just have to wait for the results to come through.
Overall the people are extremely friendly, the clinic is immaculately clean and most speak English either fluently or basic conversational wise.
Everything they said they would do for me I got; from a hotel to PRP. The hotel itself is great and I was quite happy it was the Real Del Rio as I have been there numerous times on multiple trips to TJ.
HMR was not the cheapest quote I got but ultimately if I’m having something done to me that will impact my look; money is not an issue and I want the best I can get.
I wish I remembered the surgeons name as he was always informing me of what he was doing, making sure I was ok and giving me plenty of advice for aftercare in the coming months.
Special shoutout to Andrea(I hope I spelled your name right)she was always making sure I was ok, very polite, courteous and probably gave me the most gentle haircut I have ever received in 38 years of being alive.

HMR is honestly the best. I came in as a new patient without much knowledge about the options available for hair restoration. The doctors and everyone facilitated the process and made the whole experience amazing. Dr Jorge is truly an expert. With patience the results will come. Extremely thankful!

Genuinely every single person I interacted with was so incredibly friendly and professional. My hair transplant turned out absolutely PERFECT. Better than I could have hoped for. Everyone talks about going to Turkey but I really didn’t want to fly 18 hours for that. I’m so happy I found HMR and genuinely, I cannot recommend them enough. Dr Cortez did my surgery but I also interacted with Dr Cesar as well and he was great. I have a bunch of friends who are waiting to see how mine turned out and I’ll definitely be recommending they come here!
