I consulted with Dr. Vinay for a hair transplant touch-up after we initially connected through a clinic-related contracting/barter arrangement. What ultimately changed things for me was that the scope and expectations expanded well beyond what was originally discussed after I had already moved forward in good faith by completing the first phase and doing more work than initially understood, in an effort to make the hair transplant touch-up process smoother.

My crew and I completed the first phase of the barter arrangement, and based on our on-site conversations and during delivery, Dr. Vinay mentioned several times that after about 2–3 additional days of work from me and my crew, we’d be good and the hair transplant touch-up would be taken care of. He sounded genuine with slick talk including comments like, “If management says something about you working late, tell them we’re cousins bro”. Because of that, I didn’t get everything in writing I honestly believed he would stand by what was said.

Afterward, following a re-evaluation at the clinic, the scope and expectations expanded significantly beyond what had originally been discussed. I tried to get clear and consistent answers, but the expectations continued to shift, including being told the touch-up would now require a more “highly advanced” approach than my first procedure. At the same time, the contracting scope kept changing as well: what was initially described during a video call as work on cabinets later expanded into the entire kitchen, plus painting another clinic location, and even purchasing all materials for both projects, making the new phase far more involved and expensive than initially explained.

Months later, he reached out asking when I could start work at the clinic. I told him I could likely schedule it in about three weeks, as I wanted to speak with him first to see whether the situation could be clarified and expectations realigned. He responded that he would find someone else, and at that point I realized there was no value in continuing any further back-and-forth.

I value honesty and clear expectations, so I decided not to move forward. Some statements later raised additional concerns for me. When it comes to someone operating on you, trust and transparency matter more than people realize. Looking back, I’m completely comfortable paying more elsewhere rather than proceeding without full confidence in the process.

My general advice: if someone is very accommodating up front, make sure expectations are clearly defined—and get everything in writing. Hopefully this clinic adapts by consistently prioritizing honesty, which is highly commendable.

There are not many doctors who cater to women's hair loss -- especially in Chicago. I've lacked the courage to confront my own hair loss for many years, but I'm glad I finally found my way to Dr. Vinay. He has a bedside manner you rarely see in doctors today. Didn't rush me, had a pragmatic approach to my treatment plan, and somehow made the process of putting dozens of tiny needles in my scalp as painless as possible. For the first time in almost a decade, I have hope for my hairline.

I can’t thank Dr Vinay enough for the incredible care and support he provided. After a bad experience with a previous hair transplant surgery, I was feeling devastated and unsure of what to do. Just four days later, Dr Vinay gave me a consultation that completely turned things around.

He took the time to thoroughly assess my situation, explain everything with such clarity, and offer professional advice that gave me hope again. His kindness, expertise, and attention to detail made all the difference.

If you’re looking for someone who truly cares and knows what they’re doing, Dr Vinay is the one to see. I’ll always be grateful for his guidance during such a difficult time.

Dr. Vinay is absolutely AMAZING!! I would give 10 stars if I was allowed to! I live in Indiana, so it was hard for me to get there, especially during Covid19. They worked around my schedule every time. Nothing but great things to say about him and his staff. Thanks a million!

Disclaimer: I only had a consult with Dr Vinay.

Put simply, his practicing experience and price are on two wildly different ends of the spectrum. This practice has been around for a handful of years and he charges in line with practices that have decades of experience, and online results.

Also, google the Dr’s name and “license”.

This practice is also, as far as I can tell, in no way affiliated with Northwestern Medical. Deceptive, to say the least.

If you’re comfortable paying his prices, there are a lot of more reputable doctors nationwide that you can visit at that price point.
